42! According to Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy!!

But to be honest, that’s a question which has puzzled scientists for so many years and will continue to do so long into the future, so you’re not the first and definitely won’t be the last to ask it. That’s why there’s the quest to find a ‘universal theory of everything’!

This question has had so many different varieties over the years, through religion, theory etc. So top marks for the question, well done! Often the simplest sounding ones are the toughest to answer!

It is what you make of it! When we talk about the meaning of life for plants or animals that aren’t humans we say it is to settle somewhere, grow, and have as many babies as possible before you die. Humans are really good at that and our world is now overpopulated by our species. But if you think about it from a philosophical point of view everyone has their own wants and needs in life so the answer changes.

I think finding happiness is probably the closest thing to “meaning” we can find in life. That and cake. Cake gives my life meaning all of the time.
