Trees produce oxygen the same way that seaweeds do: photosynthesis. They use light and water to create energy, then store it in sugars that are made using CO2. At the end, O2 is left over as a ‘waste’ product.

Yup, like Kathryn said trees produce oxygen as a result of photosynthesis. That’s why the environmental agencies are keen in planting more and more trees! Gets the CO2 out of the air, and plus, forests are a great ecosystem.

Yes it works out really well for the environment, because trees don’t need oxygen, but the earth does! Circle of life đŸ™‚
