People used to look more like apes, or gorillas that you see in documentary’s. Over time we evolved, or grew to, have the ability to stand up straight, communicate with languages and more.

Here is a good link to the Smithsonian website that talks through the evolution of our species: Homo sapiens

http://humanorigins.si.edu/education/introduction-human-evolution which tells about human evolution

Yup, Kathryn nailed it- the first human evolved from apes.

Like the others said, evolved from apes. The big step forward for me was Australopithecus, which roamed Africa 3.5 million years ago and was the first ape to walk upright!

      The rest is history!
