• Question: What happens if you get breast cancer?

      Breast cancer has actually become a less scary form of cancer- we are getting better and better at treating it. If you get breast cancer then normally you have a lump in your chest (there are other indicators too). You can go to the hospital and have this tested (called a biopsy), and hopefully removed. You are supposed to start checking for breast cancer in your twenties, because if you catch it then it’s easier to treat.

      Hopefully if you got breast cancer you would find it very early on. There is great information on monitoring yourself for cancers at http://www.breastcheck.ie. If you do have it then you consult your physician and find the best treatment for yourself.
